The ANSI AWI standards for architectural casework have been effective for 6 years. Do you comprehend the changes and understand the value that is presented to design professionals within these powerful new standards? Join us as AWI leaders walk you through the advantages and new ways to consider specifying casework. Performance, not prescription!

    

Learning objectives:

  1. Comprehend the change from performance versus prescriptive casework
  2. Explore specifications and ways to maximize owner’s resources
  3. Discuss terminology and understand the importance of language on drawings and specifications
  4. Establish expectations of future woodworking projects and avenues to achieve expectations

Presenter: Doug Hague, AWI CEO

Doug Hague is the CEO of the Architectural Woodwork Institute (AWI). His passion is in architectural wood products: the materials, the mastery of engineering and design, the process and efficiency of fabrication, flawless finishes, and perfect installation.

  

Doug achieved a BST in Wood Technology from Pittsburg State University. After 4 years of industry experience, he returned to PSU and graduated with an MS in Career and Technical Education. Doug went on to teach Wood Technology for 9 years earning the title of Associate Professor.

  

Today he is a self-proclaimed wood nerd!
